Campaign Overview

The Way Forward: The Campaign for McLean is a $225 million fundraising initiative – the largest in our history – that comes at a critical time for the worldwide psychiatric field.

Through the campaign, we will chart the way forward in the lives of all our patients and their families, in the skills of our clinicians, and in the discoveries that will define the future of psychiatric care throughout the world.

Our ultimate goal is to advance the field on multiple fronts by:

Raising the standards of mental health care, with an emphasis on the unmet needs of young people and women

Mobilizing our sub-specialty divisions to address the challenges of treating specific demographics and specific psychiatric diagnoses

Accelerating the adoption of technology to enhance clinical services and research impacting all our patients
Achieving these outcomes starts with building a new campus designed to meet the needs of our youngest patients and students.

Most of the 25 buildings on our campus were built before World War I and lack the functionality and comfort that support healing. For this reason, more than half of the total $225 million campaign goal is earmarked for the essential capital project of constructing a new child and adolescent campus. This project, together with investments in care and research, will enable us to lead the way forward in saving and improving people’s lives—here and around the world.
