“The last few years have been very difficult for children and adolescents with the disruptions at school, home, and social life.”

I specialize in emerging mental illness in teens and young adults, with a focus on OCD, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. McLean has been an excellent place to practice, as our multidisciplinary approach provides a high level of care for our most vulnerable patients.

“Access to good mental healthcare is critically important and so many people have been helped by McLean.

I participate in the annual Ride for Mental Health because I believe in supporting the live-saving treatment and research at McLean. I also want to help destigmatize mental illness for the millions of people facing the difficult work of recovery.

“To be the best, you have to have the best of everything: leadership, researchers, clinicians, technology. McLean Hospital has the best of everything.”

My research is focused on why some people are more likely to develop stress-related disorders after trauma. To do that, I have to study the human brain—that requires using advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques, such as functional MRI, structural MRI, and diffusion weighted imaging. We can do all of that here at McLean.

Director, Neurobiology of Affective and Traumatic Experiences Laboratory

We will lead The Way Forward in four critical areas, beginning with building a dedicated campus for our youngest and most vulnerable patients and students.

Child & Adolescent Campus

Child & Adolescent Campus

Half of all mental illness emerges by age 14. The centerpiece of the campaign is a $125 million campus for children and adolescents, bringing together a range of critical programs in one location to deliver the best care for our most vulnerable patients.
Women’s Mental Health Center

Women’s Mental Health

With a $10 million goal, McLean can better acknowledge, explore, and prioritize the needs of women and girls across their lifespan.
Focused Care & Research

Focused Care & Research

McLean’s seven subspecialty divisions focus on specific demographic or diagnostic areas. Our $70 million goal in this area will support each division’s care, research, and education activities.
Technological Innovation

Technological Innovation

Several years ago, McLean prioritized the importance of technology in psychiatric care and research by making key investments in this area. With a $5 million goal, we are prepared to lead the way forward in integrating technology to help patients.
